About Me
I am currently working in neuropsychology - helping brain-injured adults to regain independence with a wonderful company called TRU Ltd. In the past, I have worked on a chocolate assembly line (Cadburys), been a teacher (both secondary, primary and other teachers) and a supervisor in a courier firm. Along the way, I spent my teenage years and the beginning of my twenties playing bass in "heavy" bands - Hawkwind, Deep Purple, Hendrix style music. For the new millenium, I bought a six-string acoustic guitar and was persuaded to learn some things I could perform - Jake Thackray and Leonard Cohen are a strange combination, but suit me! I am also, these days, struggling to learn to play different instruments; the bodhran is coming along OK but the fiddle requires time and opportunity when I won't disturb others - something I never seem to get! My musical tastes are eclectic in the extreme, but I do not, and never will, appreciate poor musicianship unless it is someone who is just starting out; the majority of so-called "punk music" leaves me cold, as does anything involving a lot of swearing with no melody, otherwise known as "rap".
