The Hut People

We are an accordion/percussion duo playing  tunes from around the world. Sam Pirt, on accordion and Gary Hammond, on percussion began playing together in 2008 after jamming in Sam's hut ( studio ), hence the name. Sam has been bathing in the folk world since a small boy. Gary has been paddling in the jazz, world and pop pool. Since meeting Sam he has swum into the folk world where he is wet and happy. Although there are only two of them the stage fills up with percussion instruments from around the world as well as Sam's accordions and dance shoes. We have played miniature folk cellars, train compartments and main stages at folk festivals and everything in between.

Our first album is due out January 2010 titled ' Home is where the hut is ' on Fellside Records. We will put gig details on the site here as well as our www.myspace.com/thehutpeople.
